VE Commercial Vehicles sales down 17.95% in August

Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today reported 17.95 percent decline in total sales of Eicher branded products at 3,207 units in August 2013.

The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors , had sold 3,909 units in the same month last year.

Domestic sales stood at 2,757 units in August 2013 as against 3,712 units in the year-ago period, down 25.7 percent, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement. On the exports front, Eicher trucks and buses have recorded sales of 450 units in August 2013 as compared to 197 units in August 2012, representing a growth of 128.42 percent.

VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) is a 50:50 joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited.
